After considering the build of my App, I realised that I do not have the skill set required to build something as complex as I would like it to be and therefore I have swayed more towards building a website. The website also requires a large skill set but it is one that I can teach myself with realistic expectations. I have used HTML 5 and CSS before but very briefly, therefore I will refresh my memory of the skills I have already been taught and then focus on new ones. I will do this through tutorials and clips on youtube as well as a possible collaboration with a Computer Science student. Overall, I know this project will be a difficult one and I have a lot of work to do for it, however I am really happy with my idea and want to see it through as much as I can.

Audience
I did not base my idea around a particular audience appeal, I mainly wanted it to appeal to as many people as possible. After looking over my idea, there are many incorporated elements that make the Streetbooth suitable for many people, including an adjustable stand enabling access for children. With regard to the photobooth element, if the photos taken were immediately uploaded onto Frequency’s Facebook page then more people would access that too. After tagging themselves in the photos, more people across social media will see that the Frequency Festival is taking place and either want to visit or want to plan a visit for next time.
Tourist Information and Audience Appeal
Like I briefly mentioned in my previous post, I will include access to tourist information, making this booth one that does replicate the things leaflets used to do, in a digital way. So for example, there will be information on the Artists that are running individual exhibitions as well as information on the City of Lincoln itself. This is what will make the Streetbooth appeal to more of a wide span audience, as it is not only appropriate for Festival goers, it can also be used by locals and tourists wanting to get to know the City.
iPad Technology
– Minimal access to applications [I would create my own and make the others included on the iPad have restricted access]
– Map access [Allow Festival goers, Locals and Tourists to find their way around the city, with information about where certain exhibitions are being held]
– Tourist Information [There will be a section in the App that allows users to access information about both the city and the festival currently taking place]
Liberation: The Death of Leaflets
My initial idea of ‘the death of leaflets’ representing a digital festival is something I have decided to continue with. The picture here shows how I want my final project to look, or at least be slightly similar. I have decided to focus on iPad technology and therefore believe it will be appropriate to build my own App, involving all the details I want to include in the Streetbooth. I want to incorporate a photobooth element to the Streetbooth and will most likely use the camera attached to the iPad to make it more cost effective.
